I'm guessing most of you reading this are like "@__@ waaaa??" about the title, however, if you didn't give up and read the whole thing, you probably noticed something familiar, "los Angeles." If you still don't understand, that mouthful of a title is actually the full name of Los Angeles. Betcha didn't know that. Now ya do :D "El Pueblo de bla bla ... translates to "The Town of Our Lady, Queen of the Angels of Porciuncula."
Okay on to the post
LA is where my Friday was spent. So the day began with my friend, Ester, picking me up at 9:30 AM. We drove for about 30 minutes and went to Santa Monica College. It was pretty boring. The directions we had made us go in circles a lot =____=
Then we decided to eat at the world famous "Pinks Hot Dogs" in LA. My foodie friend told me it was a good place to eat, so we got the directions on Ester's iphone and off we went. It was supposed to be a 23 minute drive... we ended up driving for like an hour or more... I guess that's LA for you.
We were pretty low on energy because Ester had a final that morning and both of us didn't eat breakfast. At 20 minutes of driving, we almost gave up, at 30, we decided, after driving for so long we might as well go, and if it didn't meet our expectations and effort, there would be consequences. Don't mess with hungry people mutha fuckas.
So driving an hour through LA, we were bound to see a few landmarks.
This one above; Beverly Hills yeaaa thats where i wana be! and i was until we turned a corner into the ghetto.
Then we went through Rodeo Drive. Everyone n everything looked expensive and nice. Trafic consisted of Mercedes, Land Rovers, Ferraris, and our Honda. Yay for feeling cheap.
There's St. Nicholas on Rodeo Drive.
Its a bit blurry but there was also a very dandy monopoly guy standing in front of a hospital on Rodeo Drive. He had a nice bowler hat, and a cane... mysterious...
Then alas!!! We arrived! PINKS
It was already 2 o'clock and we were dying for some food.
The line was pretty long but it took no more than 15 min to order and 3 minutes for our food to get to us. Doesn't it look like heaven?? Because it is a one way ticket to there. This stuff was authentic American style artery clogging deliciousness. - A heart attack on a plate- I think I will die an American death from eating too much fat, but can ya blame me.. I mean look at it. I wanna frame it and hang it in my room.
Here's what I got. The Mayor's Dog, designed by the 41st Mayor of LA, Antonio Villaraigosa. It was pretty damn good however very difficult to eat w/ all the toppings. The sausage had kind of a thick skin so it was very hard to eat while all the guacamole got all over my face. the bun was also getting soggy and started falling apart.
Here's Ester's hotdog, "The Ozzy Spicy Dog". Designed by Ozzy Osbourne. Ester said it was really spicy, but yummy.
This is the last thing we ordered, "The Bacon Chilly Dog." The Ozzy and The Mayor were filling enough, but we ordered this one just because we went through all the trouble to get to Pinks.
AANNDD just because were wanted it, we got a half and half order of fries and onion rings. They were delicious
Heres mine. Doesn't it look so very delicious?
Three buildings away from pinks was this. Yes. A "clinic" cough cough. Where you can get yo papersss
if you're not getting what i'm gettin at.. its a medical marijuana clinic. These were everywhere!
After food was LAX (the airport)
Getting there was a bit difficult just like everywhere else we tried to get to. At a red light there was a car w/ a dog peaking out the window, then another, and then a third. It was a cute surprise.
Ester had something to do at LAX because she works there. So while I was waiting, I tried to take a picture of a plane which somehow ended up coming out really dark even though it was still light out.
The sky was abnormally beautiful... maybe its the LA smog... no seriously. the irony... that such an ugly thing contributed to such a beautiful thing. Oh and sorry for the dirty window.. hehe I didnt notice till later.
Heres a picture without the dirty window.. but this time the tree and the car kinda get in the way. Sorry, I tried... we were driving.
A cool picture I took of some power lines while we were driving.. there were so many.
It was a very long day, and we were stuck in traffic to get home for 1 1/2 hours. Neways here's one last pic I took in the car to end this mega post. This was after the sun set. It was absolutely breathtaking.
